Against the backdrop of the national “Dual Carbon” goals and the industry’s major trend of constructing a “New Energy-dominated Power System,” various favorable policies are emerging one after another. The position of industrial and commercial energy storage within the market is gradually being clarified, and the commercialization and profit channels of industrial and commercial energy storage are becoming increasingly clear.
Zhejiang Province has a superior peak-to-valley electricity price difference and provincial and regional industrial support policies continue to be introduced. Direct subsidy policies for industrial and commercial energy storage in prefectures, cities and counties are intensively released, such as energy storage and discharge subsidies in Ouhai District and Longgang, Wenzhou, Zhejiang, as high as 0.8 RMB/kWh. Some research institutions estimate that the IRR of industrial and commercial energy storage in Zhejiang Province (two charging and two discharging, and a financing ratio of 70%) has exceeded 40%, and the investment return cycle has been shortened to about 3 years.

Zhoushan Ningshing Ship Building & Repairing Co., Ltd., established in 2019, is an enterprise primarily engaged in the manufacturing of railways, ships, aerospace, and other transportation equipment. The annual total electricity consumption is 394kWh. Considering the peak and off-peak electricity pricing periods in Zhejiang Province, the electricity consumption during peak and off-peak hours accounts for nearly 70%. After implementing energy storage and capacity expansion, it is advantageous for peak shaving and load balancing, easing the transformer load and reducing monthly electricity expenses. The payback period is short, and the investment returns are considerable, visible, and sustainable.
Modular Customization Helps Enterprises Reduce Costs and Increase Efficiency
Based on the analysis of customer electricity consumption data, this project has customized and configured an integrated energy storage cabinet. The operating mode is “2 charges and 2 discharges,” which means two charge-discharge cycles per day.
